Making Room for Ideas and Good Deeds: Why We Donated Our Office Furniture
January is often about fresh starts — clearing space, gaining clarity, and setting new priorities.
That’s exactly what we did at effective world at the beginning of the year. While snow quietly covered the streets outside, we took the opportunity to reorganise our office space. Usually, our daily work revolves around digital strategies and international industrial marketing. On this day, however, the agenda looked a little different: carrying, dismantling and organising. Even our managing director paused his work on aiva to lend a hand.
Keeping good things in circulation
As part of this process, we decided to part with some of our office furniture. Not because it was worn out — quite the opposite. The furniture was in very good condition, and for us, it was clear that storing or discarding it was not an option.
We strongly believe that well-maintained items should remain in use. That’s why we chose to donate our furniture to a place where it could create real value.
Supporting the Repair Café of the Ludwigswerkstätten
Our donated furniture is now being used to equip the Repair Café run by the Ludwigswerkstätten e. V. in Edesheim. Instead of standing unused in our office, it now supports a project dedicated to sustainability, community engagement and responsible use of resources.
A small contribution with meaningful impact
For us, this donation was a conscious decision. The Ludwigswerkstätten do important work for society, and we wanted to give something back — in a practical, straightforward and sustainable way.
The result:
Well-equipped spaces for collaboration and repair, a clearer office for us, and plenty of new room for creative ideas.
Sharing truly makes a difference.
